How to Clean Sex Toys

At Pink Luxury Toys, most, if not all of our toys are made of a body safe silicone which is easy to clean and use. 💕

Most importantly, it is important to clean your sex toys because this prevents bacterial infections which are not pretty, can be painful and are downright nasty. Always clean your toys before and after use.

Know what your sex toy is made of, then follow these guidelines.

  1. Silicone, Glass, or Steel and it is motorized

Sex toys that are battery powered should be waterproof or at least splash resistant. If this is the case, use a mild antibacterial soap, the same type of soap you would use on your lady parts and lather and rinse the toy completely. You can use a damp cloth to wipe it clean, if you’d like.

  1. Silicone, Glass, or Steel and it is NOT motorized

These non-motorized sex toys can be placed in boiling water for 8-10 minutes for a deeper clean. The steam will sterilize it. Be sure to let it cool down before touching. This method is good for after use.

  1. Sex Toy Cleaner

You can also use a packaged sex toy cleaner. We recommend a water based and antibacterial cleanser. A silicone based cleanser will degrade a silicone sex toy. Pink Luxury Toys will be carrying some in the near future. So, stay tuned.

After cleaning, be sure to store your toys properly in a case or bag. Feel free to use the packaging it came with or buy your own custom bag. Some places sell sex toy storage bags or you can use a small makeup bag or a storage box with a lid.

Common places to keep your toys are in your lingerie or underwear drawer, under the bed or in the bathroom cabinet.
